04th and 05th November 2025
The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC), Green Campus Club, Team Spotlight, and Abalashrama–Suvidya jointly organized a two-day hands-on workshop on paper bag making on 04–05 November 2025 under a community engagement and environmental sustainability initiative. 85 participants prepared 600 eco-friendly bags without glue or staplers, promoting green skills and sustainability awareness.

The Women Empowerment Cell and Green Campus Club of SSMRV College organized a volunteering and outreach programme at “Kadle Kayi Parshe”, Basavanagudi on 15th November 2025. A total of 42 students distributed 500–600 eco-friendly paper bags to vendors and visitors, promoting environmental awareness, sustainable practices, community engagement, and reduction of plastic usage.

The Department of Physical Education, SSMRV College, organized a Self-Defence Training Programme (Karate) on 07th November 2025 for female students to promote self-confidence, personal safety, discipline, and physical fitness. The programme focused on equipping students with essential self-defence techniques and creating awareness about the importance of self-protection.
A total of 84 female students actively participated in the training programme. In addition, 66 students from 5th Semester B.Com “E” Section participated enthusiastically and emerged as Championship Trophy Winners. Overall, the programme witnessed active participation from 150 students, making it a successful and empowering initiative.

A Hand Embroidery Workshop(HANDS 0N SESSION) was organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day–2026 to promote creativity and skill development among students. Around 40 students enthusiastically participated in the programme. The workshop continued beyond regular class hours, enabling students to conveniently learn, practice, and enhance their embroidery skills through hands-on training.

On 24th July 2025, a menstrual education and hygiene awareness session was conducted at SVCK School for 66 girl students of Classes 7 to 10 to promote safe and hygienic menstrual practices. The session was led by Dr. Ramya Naresh, who educated the students about menstruation, hygiene habits, the proper use and disposal of sanitary products, and also cleared their doubts in a supportive environment. Interactive discussions, demonstrations, and myth-busting activities helped the girls better understand menstrual health while encouraging body positivity and self-care. Fun icebreaker games like word building and Antakshari were also conducted, making the session engaging, comfortable, and memorable for all the participants.

On 20th September, 2025 Udbhav was conducted with the participation of 35 members to inspire leadership, teamwork, and active involvement in Rotaract. The highlight of the session was an orientation by Rtr. Shreya M Gupta, who guided the members about their roles, responsibilities, and the importance of effective leadership. The meeting also included brainstorming for upcoming projects and interactive icebreakers that created a lively and engaging atmosphere. Overall, the session left the participants with renewed enthusiasm, clarity, and a stronger sense of unity and purpose.

On 31st August 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College actively participated in Utkarsha 2025 – Annual District Learning and Assembly organized by Rotaract District 3191, with the presence of 41 enthusiastic members including the Board of Directors. The event featured inspiring keynote addresses, engaging breakout sessions, and valuable networking opportunities that enriched members with leadership insights and knowledge. Adding to the celebration, the club proudly received the award for Highest Registered Club (Institution-Based), recognizing the dedication and active involvement of its members. The session was led by Ms. Anjali K, who educated students about online safety, common cyber threats, and the importance of protecting their digital presence through interactive and engaging discussions. Students enthusiastically participated by asking questions and learning practical cybersecurity habits, making the session both informative and empowering. The event concluded on a heartfelt note with the Interactors presenting the speaker with a handmade thank-you card as a token of gratitude and appreciation.

On 23rd September 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, conducted Mind Matters: Understanding Alzheimer’s, an online awareness session attended by 45 participants. The session was led by WG CDR DP Sabharwal, who shared valuable insights about Alzheimer’s disease along with heartfelt personal experiences that created a deep emotional impact on the audience. Participants actively engaged in the discussion and Q&A session, gaining a better understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s. Overall, the session successfully promoted awareness, empathy, and compassion toward mental health and dementia-related conditions.

On 5th October 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College successfully organized Signs of Hope, an engaging Indian Sign Language (ISL) workshop at Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park with 46 participants. Led by Parmeet, Founder of Deaf Bookwave, and Rtr. Nida Fatima, the session promoted inclusivity, empathy, and awareness about non-verbal communication through interactive activities and fun challenges. Participants enthusiastically learned the beauty of expressing emotions through gestures, creating meaningful connections beyond words. The event concluded on a joyful note, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for empathy, inclusivity, and the power of unspoken communication.

On 15th November 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College, in collaboration with the Interact Club of Sri Guru Harkrishan High School, conducted the AI Wave Project for 57 participants. The session was led by Ms. Divya Rajanikanth, who introduced students to the basics of Artificial Intelligence and the essentials of Prompt Engineering through interactive discussions and live demonstrations. Students actively participated, explored real-world AI applications, and gained valuable insights into the responsible use of emerging technologies. On 23rd November 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College conducted “Let’s Talk Cancer,” an online awareness session via Google Meet with 26 participants. The session was led by Dr. Parvathi, Jr. Consultant at Bangalore Hospice Trust – Karunashraya, who educated participants about cancer, its warning signs, risk factors, and the importance of early detection. Through interactive discussions and compassionate insights, participants gained a deeper understanding of the emotional and physical challenges faced by cancer patients and their families. Party in Pink 4.0, a flagship breast cancer awareness initiative, was successfully organized by the Rotaract Club of Bangalore JP Nagar in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College, bringing together awareness, fitness, and community engagement for a meaningful cause. The event featured inspiring addresses by distinguished dignitaries including Padma Shri Dr. Vijayalaxmi Deshmane and Smt. A significant highlight of the initiative was the successful contribution of ₹2,00,000 to Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, reflecting the collective support and generosity of participants and donors. The Rotaract Club of SSMRV College successfully organized a Crochet Workshop from 2nd to 4th March 2026 at SSMRV College as part of its Vocational Service initiative, with the participation of 25 students. The workshop introduced participants to the basics of crochet, including foundational stitches and pattern-making, through interactive and hands-on learning sessions. With guidance from instructors and volunteers, students gradually developed confidence in creating small crochet pieces while enjoying a collaborative and creative environment. The session covered important topics such as financial goal setting, tax planning, inflation, smart investments, and risk management through interactive discussions and practical examples. The session focused on resume building, LinkedIn profile optimization, communication skills, and personal branding, helping 25 participants strengthen their professional identity. The session was led by Dr. Sharat D Hegde, Consultant in Internal Medicine, who educated participants about heat strokes, warning signs, preventive measures, hydration, and emergency first-aid responses. The interactive session witnessed active participation from Rotaractors and parents, making the initiative informative, engaging, and community-oriented. The main objective of the event is to promote preventive healthcare among the community by creating awareness about intestinal worm infections and ensuring the safe distribution of deworming tablets.

The Free Health Check-up was organised on 25.02.26 between 10.00am – 3pm in Quadrangle. It is conducted for students and staff. The check-up was organised to create awareness about the health and precautionary measures to be taken to maintain a good health ( BP, Diabetes, Eye testing, Dental ).Details of the check-up have been recorded and explained the problem if any to the participants. Students and staff have been benefited and they get to know about the status of their health and the doctors advised them to overcome their health issues
